Space Penguins and Dolphins - here we go!
Philippine, 13 years old girl from Toulouse! This sporty girl has been busy with surfing this year. Before this camp she surfed some gnarly waves in Seignosse and last year she jumped on a surf board here in Biarritz! In addition to surfing, Philippine is into kayaking and rollerblades.
Marine, 15 years old girl from Bratagne joined the English & Surf camp with her brother! She has surfed for one year, mainly in her home region Bretagne and is also excited about kayaking.
Elie, 13 years old sailor boy from Toulon who joined the camp with his friend Niels! Hasn't surfed before but loves it already! Is really into sailing and in the future, wants to be the captain of a catamaran!
Theo, 15 years old boy from Bretagne came to conquer the Basque waves with her sister Marine! Like her sister, Theo has been surfing the waves in Bretagne. Likes soccer, tennis and surfing!
Axel, 16 years old boy from Avajan came to Biarritz last year to surf the Basque waves! Is a real ski and skateboard enthusiast!
Carla, 16 years old girl from Strasbourg. Last week, Carla was surfing the waves in Lacanau! During this summer she also spent three weeks at a summer school in Marseille learning English.
Pierre, 14 years old boy from Bretagne who is not a newbie when it comes to surfing! Pierre has been surfing both in Bretagne and in Vindée. In addition to surf, Pierre loves riding horses!
Esteban, 15 years old boy from Compiégne. Has tried surfing once before this camp in Bretagne. He is really into different sports such as tennis, wake boarding, kneeboarding, wake skating, rugby, ping pong, VTT and kick biking!

Niels, 13 year old boy from Toulon, sailor as his friend Elie! Has tried surfing once before in Vieux Boucaup!
On Monday both groups, Dolphins and the Space Penguins hit
the waves for the first time at the sunny Ocean beach. The waves were smooth
and clean – just perfect for the kids!
As the day was really hot, we jumped in the water several
times during the day!

We try our best to ride the bikes to the beach. To take care of the safety issues we use helmets and bright vests so that the other people can see us!

In the afternoon we had two English lessons. On one lesson
children learned surf terminology which is used during the surf sessions. The
kids also wrote entries to their surf diaries describing their first surf
experiences at English & Surf! On their second lesson, they read a story
about Cabo & Coral and discussed the themes in the book.

The day ended with an ”Ocean Activity” conducted by the surf
instructor Pierrik. During this acitivity the kids practiced swimming and
learned how to turn the surf board in the water and how to do the eskimo roll
to get through the waves!
