First day of the camp! This week we had 16 kids at English & Surf! On Sunday evening the campers and friends gathered in Pignada to watch the European Championships of football with ice creams and sweets. After a while,  some kids started their own football game and while the others showed their skills in skateboarding.

On the second day of the camp, we went to the Ocean beach for the whole day. Everybody surfed two times and the rest of the day we spent playing volleyball and rugby. We also had yoga and English lesson on the beach and we learnt new vocabulary of different body parts.

Translation exercises - translating the adventures of Cabo and Coral from English to French.

Stretching session with an amazing view!

On Tuesday we surfed at Ocean beach for the day. In the evening we had Hamish´s birthday party on the beach. Besides the campers, friends and helpers surf club members were invited as well. We surfed under the most amazing sunset, ate ice cream and Basque cake and skipped by using a giant rope and played Tug Of War together. The sunset was beautiful and everybody enjoyed the special night.

Happy surfer!

 Buddies!

Wednesday and Thursday we spent at Ocean beach and at Cavalier beach surfing. The waves got a bit bigger and surfing was good. Lots of development was seen already. By the end of the week  the swell got bigger on the coast of Biarritz so we went surfing to Hendaye. The kids were exhausted after two lessons with Pierrik, football on the beach and were happy to have their picnic lunch using a surfboard as a table!

It was sad to say goodbye to the campers as parents collected them from the Pignada or we took them to meet their trains or planes. Four of the campers were not going home right away and spent a relaxing Saturday night with us at Bidart Camp.
